If you buy a Colt Official Police made in 1955 from RDA you can take possession of it right away because to the BATFE it is a FFL to FFL transfer. If you bought it from a out of state wholesaler, it can be shipped directly to your house.
Well, in theory, you are supposed to wait 3 days to take personal possession.
