Hi all,
Several weeks ago Ryan at the shop helped me look at a replacement CC pistol for my Bersa Thunder. The Thunder is a nice pistol, but not totally reliable and just a smidge too large IMO. I had looked at the Sig 938 as chose that one, but had to save up some dough before committing. Since then I've come up with about $900 to splurge with. Also, since then I started thinking that perhaps I should get that GP100 I've been wanting for quite some time. (yes, I know, not exactly a CC pistol).
The latter is sure tempting, but it's another type of ammo I have to start stocking up on and I'm not sure I am ready for that yet. I also noted you carry the Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm which I'll have to take a look at.
Gee...not sure yet. I think another visit to the store might help solidify my choice.
Any tips/ideas?

You mentioned you want it for CC. Do you want to carry a revolver or semi? What feels best in your hands. With $900 you can buy just about any handgun you want. You really need to think about what you plan on doing with it, range, home, or CC. If you want a gun for CC, don't buy one because it's cool, buy it thinking your life may be on the line one day.
I sure understand about having to stock up on different ammo, that's been my problem for quite some time. Recently I consolidated and sold/bartered a few guns. I'm down to only five different handgun calibers now. It's much more manageable now. in a SHTF situation I'll now have a good inventory on the ammo I would really need.
There's nothing wrong with buying something that's cool, I've been doing it all my life.

Gee... for 900 you could buy the GP100 RDA has in the used guns department for $525, and buy a Ruger LC9S concealed carry also. You'd have two really great guns...

I'm not even close... Right now, we have the option of shooting .45LC, .40S&W, .357 Sig, .357 Mag, .38 Spl, 9mm, .25ACP, and .22LR but I can do it using only 5 guns if that makes it better

I've always had a fondness for 45LC, but I'll want a nice Cowboy action big revolver when I am ready, and a Cowboy holster too! It's the kid in me...

11/8 decided on the Sig. Sweet! The GP100 will have to wait.

Good choice! I would have done the same. Puss now you can save up for the gp100 =]

Glock doesn't make anything like what SSPhoto picked up. When Glock makes something like the 938, I'll lean your way.

The best medication is to get your Glock out to the Range!

I rarely shoot my custom .44 special which depart with so I'm counting it as a ½. That put's me closer to you but you still have me beat.
.22LR, 38 Special, 9mm, .357mag, .44 Special a half gun..

I'd probably have some more love for Glocks if the were comfortable to hold and had better sights. They are quality guns. Maybe if I shot them more they might grow on me. But why shoot an uncomfortable gun?

I just don't care for the Glock trigger. That's my big contention.

I took my 938 out again yesterday (2nd outing). This time at the range I figured I'd not worry too much about groupings, but more on center mass. I used RDA standard 8x11 target sheet and put about 5 yards out. Then did some rapid target acquisition to see if I could hit the barn. Didn't do too bad. I figured from when I "drew" (as the range doesn't allow fast draw, I think) to when I actually fired, it was about a 1.5-2 seconds and the shots, were about 7-8 inches apart, but still hit the paper. Not too bad, but could be better with practice.
