So a survey was release that 59% of Americans would consider purchasing a smart gun.
The atircle published by John Hopkins can be found here -> Survey

So let's start the RDA survey on this. Next handgun purchase, what is the likeliness of you buying a Smart Gun?

If a company wants to make them, that's fine. If people want to buy them fine, but I should have the choice... let the market decide. Having said that. I've ever seen an electronic component that doesn't fail,.... so would not be my first choice.

Electronics are not reliable over time. Anyone seen a 40 year old radio still working? And then their is always the power source. Sorry, but I wouldn't buy such a device. And if the firearm had such a device I would remove it.

I actually have a stereo from the '70s with an operating turntable and 8-track player. ;)

I agree anything electronic that is over 40 years old is likely the only electronic thing still working. Any electronics built today have a 5 minute life span.

With current technology and the risk of unreliablity, absolutely no! Might be a nice "toy", but not for anything serious.
