One are many groups forget about is a simple common mess hall. If you have 8 or more families are you really going to cook 8 different meals on 8 different kitchens?
Many groups neglect items like this in their preps. Start thinking big for bug out locations. A few large pots.
Food Preps should be thought of in a 3 tier approach.
Tier 1: SOS type rations, a 3 day supply for everyone, kept in BOB's.
Tier 2: Freeze dried food for 30 days, to be considered PORTABLE, and you would add this to each person's BOB
Tier 3: Bulk food items that you will actually eat. #10 cans are good for some items. See link below...

But Bulk packages of Rice, Beans, etc work well too... Fairly inexpensive at Sam's or Costco.
