If you have concrete proof that they're stealing his material without the proper credit or permission, you can sue them on the grounds of plagiarism. Either your husband, or the source he worked for, would own the copyright to the story. As you said he is no longer with us, the copyright would have passed to you as his spouse, if he held it. It would depend on his contract or employment agreement with the original source of the story. You might want to consult an attorney to see what your options would be here.
