Ok, here is my range report... First off, the Mosin in the new stock is really not a lot lighter than the old wood stock. It is however way better balanced. Also, to me the stock is much easier to get a perfect cheek weld and perfect length of pull, which really improves the trigger a lot IMHO. The rest of the set up is better as well. The did have a problem with one of the 3 ten round magazines, but there was a video online that said to strip it, bake at 225 for 15 minutes and then dump it in cold water. Seems to have done the trick. The other magazines functioned fine. The problem child seems to be doing better now. The stock also has really helped reduce the recoil. I shoot lots of .308 and have to say pre-Archangel you felt the recoil on the old stock. It kicked like a mule. It is much more tame now and fun to shoot. I put about 50 rounds down range at a 100 yds and had 2" groups. I think it was the BiPod more than the shooter.
