You're just on roll with your one liners today. You're actually making me Laugh out Loud.

Proud to say, I borrowed that quote from Chris Kyle... Smile He's was a great American Hero. His story is one of service to his country, and trying to live by a high morale code. He was not perfect, but he was a superb American Patriot.

I hope this movie is as good as the hype. Thumbup

Ah, you "know a guy". Thumbup
I just saw it. It started tonight in Round Lake Beach.

I am numb. The critic at Rolling Stone magazine said it will take a piece out of you. It took several out of me. The strange part is you don't even know it until the end. The credits roll in silence and you just sit there.

I will be seeing again before the weekend is over.

Thumbup Yep it's hard to explain.
I'm finally going to go see it this weekend with my girlfriend. It was even her idea, so I'm pretty excited. I'll look into getting the book too. I'm getting close to bring done with my Stephen King series and need something else for when I'm done!
The only drawback was the pace was a little fast as they transitioned through the earlier parts. Not a lot of character development or personal growth development of Kyle.

Done perfectly it would have been a 4 hour movie. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot got edited out.

I am very curious, Ringo, to get your reaction not having read the book first.

Sharz (my wife) and I had the exact same reaction. We were effected under the hood somewhere that I am not even sure what yet. I read Glen Beck's reaction and almost cried. Yeah, I know, sounds a little odd. And none of that was apparent until the end.

We went and watched it again this afternoon. There were lines half an hour early.

I didn't realize the first time how much reading the book so recently interfered with just watching the movie and absorbing it. And then the end gob-smacked me out of the blue for reasons I couldn't even process. I was numb for more than an hour. But on the second view, without the mental scrutiny, just watching, it was even better -- it felt complete and well-paced. And I was still gob-smacked, even knowing exactly what was coming.

I haven't been able to go see it yet but hoping to real soon!

It remains true to form. The movie is no where near as good as the book! In my lifetime the only movie that has come close to being as good as the book is "The hunt for the Red October".

So much of the Seal Training was left out. The movie's ending is truly one of the most moving scenes in film. Perhaps the White House should have skipped Brown's funeral and attended Kyle's... But we all know who was more like the son Obama's didn't have...
