Yep, another gun free zone. Always the same story.
As far back in history that we can look, humans have killed each other with any tool they can find. As Mike is pointing out if you level the playing field it gets better. But far as I can see you're not going to stop any of these tragedies by fighting gun control. And something tells me, the gunman in that article doesn't really care if you ban guns. The black market is loaded with guns, and drugs, along with countless other things from across the globe. He's going to try and destroy what he wants regardless of our laws. So why can't I have the means to defend myself?

Here we are a community based around self defense and sport, not trying to harm others. We desire to keep our rights in tact, and be able to exercise them at will.
Its a shame that we can not have police strapped to everyone's hip 24/7 to defend us from this kind of madness. That's where a gun comes in handy! The respond a lot faster than 911 too! Thumbs up

What is even worse is that this poor criminal didn't take note of the school being a gun free zone! How DARE he?! If these thugs aren't going to pay attention to the gosh darn signs, why do we even bother putting them up? The answer is obviously that we need more signs.
Maybe the signs were not big enough? Or maybe our educational system failed and he could not read them? Or maybe he doesn't speak English? Maybe we need Spanish signs (German, Polish, Italian, Russian, Greek, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, etc)?

Maybe criminals and the insane that are willing to commit murder, don't care about gun laws?

Look, when people feel threatened the call Police. Police are ARMED good guys. When you have a criminal or insane person start shooting, why call police? You call them BECAUSE they are ARMED.

Refuse to be a victim.
Sign sign everywhere a sign, blocking out the scenery breaking my mind do this don't do that, can't you read the sign..? Haha

And piecelesspeace, do you actually have an opinion or just trying to start drama? You haven't responded to anything really. Just redirect everything somewhere else. I don't have any problem reading/responding to legit questions or opinions but you're not posting any of that.
@ringo3632

Didn't know you wanted me to put lyrics of songs with my posts.

From what I saw in this categories, it was about posting a news event. I did that and all I got was a bunch of attacks. There are plenty of threads in this cat that was not hit with a bunch of response.

I am putting my views/opinions in other threads. I don't have time to get attached in each and every thread I start.
Most of them can not, Ringo. This is the regular happenings with the anti's. Meet them with logic and facts, they refuse to answer.
I havent seen a single "attack" unless by attack you mean those "pesky facts".
I've seen ZERO facts. A lot of opinions, but little facts.

My apologies peace, I just like that song so I found it amusing the topic was there..

Never meant any of mine to come across as attacks, like I said before I think it's silly to say we don't need defense. But if you'd like to be sarcastic about our (my) posts that's on you
The facts are, there is much less VIOLENT crime in Canada. And most of the violent crime here involves a handgun. I'm good with the rifles and shotguns, but not the handgun. To easy for the bad guy to hide and commit crime.
And easy for the good guy to use to prevent it

+1
PieceLessPeace, there is no relationship between my owning a handgun and a bad guy having a handgun.

I agree that a man committing a crime should not have a handgun.

However, I have no idea how you can conclude if I give away my handgun that somehow the gun in the hand of a man robbing a 7-11 will magically disappear.

I would think that Canada is a much different culture than here in USA. Yes, less violent. We American's love our gratuitous violent movies, and accept marginal parenting as normal. We have a lot to learn from our neighbors, including our European friends.

However, that being said, we have what we've been dealt and now seek to arm and protect ourselves. Thankfully, we don't see the levels of crime here in the burbs like in Chicago, but just the same I support one's right to defend themselves. You can't lump in criminals with normal folks.
There cultures are closer than you think. In Canada, we have our own TV programming, and then we get ALL US programming. I could pick any of you, spin you around, and you would think you are in an American city in most Canadian cities.
I have a simple solution. I am OK with putting to death any criminal that uses a hand gun in a felony. This saves everyone trouble and grief. The taxpayers will not have to worry about paying for criminals. The law abiding citizen has zero to fear from this. But I will bet that PieceLessPeace will oppose this.

Guns are inanimate objects. ONLY governments and criminals use them injure people. Accidents happen on rare occasion. We already have laws against suicides, how well do those work? Last I checked it was illegal to commit a crime with a weapon, period, yet we have plenty of crime.

As to Rights being usurped by government, as Danton said "Man has the rights he can defend". That is the PRIMARY reason for the Second Amendment. Hunting and crime are secondary reasons for it. The socialists/communists always will want a disarmed citizenry, it makes theft easier, and it makes sticking a bayonet in their backs to get them to work for someone else's benefit easier. Ask Hitler, Stalin or Mao if they favored armed citizens...

Quebec is in a world of its own.
