hmmm... I don't own a lever gun, but I have a fair number of rifles... The level gun was a great late 20th century weapon. There are many fine semi-automatic rifles today. Although there is something about the 30/30 or 45/70 cartridge that screams old west RIFLE...

Love my Winchester model 94 30/30. Great brush gun and a great shooter. It was the first rifle I owned and was the first rifle I used for deer hunting.

I was at RDA yesterday, and checked out quite a few of their rifle offerings. The had a Enfield, that looked like it could use some tender loving care. I thought about buying it and perhaps restoring to what it looked like new. And they had a Marlin 45/70 lever gun, that just said "I need a good home", more than a new boxer puppy. It's a gun I'd love to shoot. The action seemed a little stiff, but I was told that lever guns are supposed to be that way when new. Seemed really well made.

I have a single shot Sears 22 lever gun. It's a fun little gun. I would like a 357/38 one day but that is a long way off.

I've had a Marlin 30/30 For a lot of years. It is fun to shoot. Always used it deer hunting in northern Wisc.

My step-father had a J. C. Higgins, manufactured by Marlin, in .30-30. I used to love to shoot that rifle and is what I learned to shoot large caliber rounds with. He and my grandfather taught my brother and I first on it then on some of my grandfather's other rifles, like an old school Galil. I was supposed to get it when he passed but with my mother and I not being on speaking terms I never did. I miss that old rifle. My father-in-law has a Marlin that I get to shoot occasionally. I'm personally looking at one of the Henrys in .30-30. Those are a nice rifle as well.
