But I love how the news media makes it like your required to have a CCW in your backyard. Devil

Just another reason why you carry 100%.

Quote:Streamwood man thwarts robbery attempt, authorities say

A Streamwood 18-year-old accused of trying to rob a man by saying he had a gun was arrested after the man pulled a gun on him, authorities say.

Prosecutors say the intended victim has a valid concealed carry permit.

Konrad Janel was ordered held on $75,000 bond Monday on charges of attempted aggravated robbery.

He is accused of entering a backyard on the 1400 block of Laurel Oaks Drive Sunday with his face covered by a shirt and claiming he had a weapon, according to Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Gbenga Longe.

Longe quoted Janel as saying, "I have a Glock" and demanding money and cigarettes from the man, who ordered Janel and a companion to leave.

The man in the backyard pulled out a gun, and Janel ran away, Longe said.

The man and other people who were in the yard restrained Janel's companion until police arrived, Longe said. The companion later identified Janel as the one who demanded money, Longe said.

Janel next appears in court on May 21.

We should try to keep all these stories that take place in the Chicagoland area for a year end review.
