Not to quote an old song, but:

I am as guilty as the next for not checking in on this forum as often as I should. Seems to me this is where we should be meeting, asking questions, and talking. Social media sites are not private; your info and posts are monitored and shared, stick to the RDA Forum.

I see tons of names on the members list that have never activated their RDA Forum accounts. Maybe the staff at RDA can encourage customers at the register to sign up (heck, you have a computer on the wall, show them how!) and other forum members can encourage these folks to sign in and speak their piece.

Hey Folks.

Been busy catching up with stuff, but now I think i'll have a bit more time to come back on here and see what the Forum folks need or are talking about.

For those that know me, I had a full time job when I started Red Dot Arms. Worked a 40 hour week for them.

Well, as of last June, i'm working RDA 100% of my time. I've made a lot of changes change in other areas, and still making changes. It all goes well, 2017 should be a fun year for RDA. I'll keep you posted as stuff happens.

Keep watching for new contests coming soon.

Hello,
My name is James, and I am a brass a-holic. No seriously I love shooting sports, I was a Devil Pup. Son of a Marine Sniper, and had planned my entire life in Highschool planning on joining the USMC. However, while breaking a horse 1 week before heading to basic. I had my ankle stepped on by the horse.

It shattered my leg into 2 and my ankle needed to be held together by screws for a year. I was told I couldn't join, which was difficult to adjust too, as that had been my plan all my life. I started getting into distance marksmanship at a very early age. I have learned gunsmithing, and am now heavily into archery. I recently went from mostly using Bolt action, to getting into the idea of building an AR. Not just out of the fear bandwagon, but just because I started shooting them more often, and found that I had a lot of fun shooting them. I am also looking to get into competitive shooting. I have used a .338 Lapua to shoot 1200 yards with a .75 MOA decently regularly. And now I am looking to expand to a variety of competitive shooting. I have done some long range competitions, and some hand gun local competitions.

I have lived all over the country so, I usually used family rifles. I was never settled down in one place log enough to work on getting my conceal and carry, or even get my permit to purchase. However, I moved up to northern Minnesota, after finding my fiancee. Now, that we are settled and living where we are planning on staying, I got my permit to purchase. And take my conceal and carry class next week.

So thats my firearms background. Honestly, I am just glad to find a forum with such a solid group of like minded people, and be able to get information on a large amount of topics, and from people like me.

Nice to meet you,

Greetings fellas. Relatively a newcomer to firearms in general. Been shooting/collecting for about 4 years now. For most of my life I was adamantly opposed to gun ownership. Much of this psychology influenced by having gone to fairly liberal high schools/colleges throughout my life.

Had a client that had his own private gun range in his basement and a giant arsenal of firearms. For months on end, he egged me on to just "try it out." About 4 years ago, fired my first gun and found it to be exhilarating and quite intense.

Hence the indoctrination began. =)

Always had this view of gun owners being fear driven backwoods hicks - couldn't have been more wrong. I've met quite a few folks that both collect and are passionate about shooting and they've all been exremely intelligent, politically engaged, and just responsible citizens. Some of the nicest people I've met!

Mostly into C&R rifles - just enjoy the research and history. Admittedly I don't shoot as often as I'd like but the 'collecting' experience is really gratifying.

Met Mike at Red Dot Arms merely through chance via my wife. We ended up building out the Red Dot Store and this forum together, and there are plans underway to scale Red Dot's online presence via a Training focused site, News portal, and tertiary marketing collateral. Stay tuned!

Good to be here and looking forward to evolving relationships!
