I'm extremely interested in taking AHA first aid training class. Not too long ago I spoke to Mike about scheduling of the class. I found out not many people have shown much interest in first aid training and it's been tough to get a class of only 10 people together for one class.

When I took mt CCW classes at Red Dot, there seemed to be a number of people interested. Unfortunately now I'm the only one who's interested in first aid.

$90 for a certified AHA first aid class sounds like a bargin to me. Certification is good for two years, but the knowledge is good for a lifetime. Sure we can probably buy 5-6 boxes of ammo to shoot up at the range for the same price, but if I can use the knowledge from this class just once to save someone's life or maybe my own....well enough said.

There must be 10 people in this forum who finds this knowledge as important as I do. Although currently I don't have a significant other, I feel this training would be great for a family to know. If the SHTF, I'm sure there's a number of people here that are prepared to defend their family, property, themselves, friends, pets etc....BUT if someone in your family or group needs immediate first aid, how many are prepared and qualified to administer it?

So....How many are interested and going to take the training class. Id like to take the class around the end of April or early May. This should be a good time, the weather should be getting nice and families are planning outdoor activities. If your planning a camping trip, going hiking, shooting or testing your survival skills in the woods. What would you do in the wilderness if help is immediatly needed? Heck what would you do if you're involved in a car accident, you can get out of the car but your passenger is in bad shape and may not have time to wait for an ambulance.

With 30 says notice, my time is extremely flexible.

More info on the training class can be found ??????http://www.reddotarms.com/coursesAHA First Aid Training

Hi! Just looking at the listing of courses on the RDA website. Aside from CCW 1 and 2, which I've already done and have my CCW license, I don't see much subsequent options for the next step, perhaps with more situational training and "live" training examples. What I had in mind:
1. Carjacking
2. Home Defense (I've already taken a home defense course a few years ago)
3. Walking down street confrontation
...and so on.

Would your current offering for the above fall into the Private Lesson category? Suggestions on other training?

Thanks in advance.

Seems we don't have Misc section for threads in the Equipment section of the forums so not sure where to post this.

I have decided that I want to look for a new backpack range bag instead of the one that I currently have. Curious who uses a backpack and which one are you using. What do you like and dislike about the one that you have? I have been looking at getting the 5.11 Rush 24 pack but not set on it yet so open to other suggestions.

My current bag (which i have posted in another thread) has done well for me, but after a year is starting to break down a little bit. It still has plenty of life left but I wanted to get a new one before my current on was completely shot. Some of the seams are coming apart, stitching is not the greatest, and the material is not very strong. For 30 dollars, I got my money's worth out of it.

Here is the new bag Ordered from Maxpedition

It has a crap load of storage, and built in CCW capable, velcro lined pockets (you have to buy the holster and mag holder separately, which I did). They hold the gun really well. In my current bag, I have my glock in a leather holster strapped in to the main compartment which works VERY well but this new bag is a major improvement.

My favorite part about this style bag is the ease of access to the items in the bag, including firearm access. A simple rotation of the bag puts everything right where you need it.

These things are built like brick houses. Check them out if you need a great bag!!
