Hi all. I remember from our Skills / Drill class on Saturday, one guy had Mike sign off on his receipt as "proof of training". As documenting your training is always a good idea, I will begin doing so myself.

My question: once I get my logbook in hand, I will assemble whatever training certs I have before Red Dot, but will Mike, Steve or Robb be willing to sign off on the RDA courses I have taken? That will get me all caught up.

My list should include these past courses:

Refuse to be a Victim
Conceal Carry Practical Application / CCW3 - Class 4,5 and 6.
NRA Basic Shotgun

When I started shooting pistols, and before finding Red Dot, I gathered info, and a few mistakes, from a lot of sources.

Between Steve, Mike, and Robb we fixed the mistakes, so when the time came to take up the AR I started right with Red Dot.

I took the first intro class today. One thing Robb taught was the right way to insert the mag - push in and pull for test instead of inserting and banging or slapping it. We were given the reasons why (I will let you take the class to find out ).

Later I was strolling through Bass Pro and they had a seminar on home defense. I walked past and saw the speaker holding an AR. I stopped long enough to watch him insert a mag and bang it in and say something about it I couldn't hear. I smiled, walked on, and thought "you guys should have went to Red Dot".

Who here trains/shots using steel targets? Where did you order your steel targets from?

Last weekend went out and was using steel targets during a training session at the range. I liked the feedback of hitting the target and knowing a hit versus a miss (immediate and instant feedback of a hit).

So I ordered my first steel target from Shooters Element. My ordered shipped the next day and arrived when they said it would. Purchased the "Spinal Tap" target from them and the description from the Shooters Element site is "A very unique request by a group of Marine's to fill a need for a target that covered only the critical mass of a torso and nothing more."

Now next weekend out to the range and onto steel targets.
