Alright aside from ssphoto does anyone else have any opinions on this hand gun? I was at a shop today looking at them and really tempted to pick one up. I have a 11 year old daughter that has started to show an interest in learning how to shoot so I would like to pick up something so I can take her to the range and teach her. Anyone ever had kids shoot it and how was the experience? If you didn't like it do you have any other suggestions? I looked at a few other 22's but several of them seemed a lot heavier and my daughter is definitely on the small size for her age so I need something that she can handle.

ssphoto I already know your opinion I read it in another post! LOL

Hi all,

For anyone having trouble reassembling their 938, here's a tip I learned from the RD staff.

Problem: all seemed to go together except the slide would not return back to full-forward position. When racked back, the barrel was loose and slid back and forth. The user manual, page 42 says to slide the slide back until the disassembly notch lines up with the slide stop tab, then to simply press the stop tab all the way in. I did this and I had the problem described above.

Solution: What the manual doesn't tell you is that you align slide like above, but look for the holes to line up between the slide and inside barrel lug (correct term?) just like you normally would (like a 1911), but only insert the slide stop tab in partially, then pull the slide back so the stop tab and slide notch line up, then drop the tab in the rest of the way.

Yes, I have a Mosquito. Took it to the range on Sunday with some of my prized CCI that I've had for some time and the crap Reminton bulk ammo.

1. CCI worked fine; no surprise there.
2. Remington: misfired every other shot; a quick double action or hammer pull back and reshoot got the bang....

Curious, what's the particulars as to why "cheap and dirty" ammo would result in a misfire. The hammer hits and it takes a second whack to fire the round? Must be really cheap!

I love the Mosquito, but it's a real be-atch to work with.
