A couple of years ago I attended a meeting in Portland OR. As I was getting out of my truck the parking attendant saw my machete in the lower panel of my door. You should have seen his eyes pop out of his head. As I handed him my keys he asked me what that big knife was for and my answer was, its there for what ever reason I need it for but mostly to clear brush while I am out in the field. I told him that as long as he did not touch it, and you respect it, just like a gun, it promises not come out of its sheath and hurt anyone. His response was "wow....ok I won't". Holy crap people, REALLY!
