For bargains in the .308 caliber don't forget DPMS, whose .308 offerings are of much higher quality than their 5.56 (IMHO) weapons.

You can't go wrong with the Tavor, I've not seen or fired a Galil. I just would spent the extra money for the SCAR, but that's me.
And really if you are looking for a bargain .308 rifle, take a look at the PTR-91 as well. I own and shoot a number of .308's. I love the round. It's the best choice for SHTF IMHO. But really for SHTF the AR15, AK47 are excellent choices too. All weapons systems have pluses and minus'.
