Here in West Virginia a few cities and towns have had to drop their anti-gun policies after a law was passed on the state level that would cut off all of their funding if they kept them on the books. The law specifically states that they had to be within the confines of the West Virginia Constitution, which is a very strong pro-gun document. One of the communities for example had to drop its ban on open carry of a handgun as it is constitutionally protected within the state. Another law passed in the state makes it illegal for federal authorities to attempt to confiscate weapons during a crisis such as a natural disaster. If they are seen to be doing so they are subject to arrest for theft. The mayor of Charleston, the state capital, wasn't happy about these as he's a big supporter of Bloomberg's attempted gun grab.
