ssphoto,
I have a real objection to Social Security. Why should I be forced to invest for 45 years for ZERO return? Why should I ever be able to collect more than I paid into the system (as 83% do today)? Why can I not control my investments, instead of being forced to take a ZERO percent return?
Social Security today is nothing more than a socialist Ponzi Scheme (no offense to Mr. Ponzi). Like all government mandated monopolies, it will never be solvent, and will cost far more than any value received.
Think about it. People would be better off if forced to invest in bank CD's of their choice.
