I had the same decision to make. I decided on a Hammers 2-7x32 pistol scope; pretty inexpensive if I recall. It seems well built and durable, too. Like you, I went to Brass Stacker for the mount. It put on very easily. I do have a curved bolt (sniper), and the rail end (rear) comes to about two inches clearance of the bolt area.
Now, although I've had the scope sighted in with some help, it is low magnification and would serve only to help see the target a little better, but has not really improved my pattern. I've had better luck just using the regular sights. Strange. Maybe I should take my Mosin in to RDA for some ideas.
