I have a little different perspective on BOB's. I have a COLD weather set up and a normal set up. The main difference being that I have some cold weather gear in my Winter BOB. 3 extra pair high quality WOOL socks, 1 each UnderArmor Class 3 thermal cold gear upper and lower, and one thermal hood. In the Winter BOB I also carry extra food.
My BOB weighs in at 41 lbs. It could be made lighter. I consider every item I place in it. For instance I have 300' of paracord in mine, I am thinking of reducing this to 150'. Every ounce counts.
