40's are not the prefered handgun of law enforcement. They suggest the 9MM. Many smaller framed people, and even some normal framed people have a hard time hitting the target with 40's. Although powerful, the recoil gets away from them. That is what I have heard customers say to me and have discussed with the shop guys.
