Yep, like all guns, there are those with good and bad reputations. Ask me what I think of Hi-Points some time. However, many people are no very limited budgets or have wives. Plus it may just be a "project gun" or learning gun. I usually buy the high quality firearms, but sometimes like a good deal too. Sometimes the differences in quality don't matter. Sometimes condition doesn't matter either. Sometimes you just take "pot luck" and buy a Mosin-Nagant for instance. Most firearms are safe to shoot when new (even Hi-Points?).
