Good afternoon, you are correct the N-PAPs always seem to be pretty good. We have sold quite a few of the I.O's without an issue. Like any manufactured products, occasionally a bad apple slips through. It happens with the best of manufactures once in awhile. I have not know of any recalls on the I.O AK's. These days if there is a serious problem going on, most manufactures will do a recall as they want their customers to be happy and tell their friends. I am not familiar of any catastrophic failures on these guns that can be linked to the gun itself.
A plus is that these are US made products. I have seen mixed reviews on customer service, but they should be easier to deal with than an eastern European manufacture. Check out he blog post below, an independent review from someone who had an issue at first and then ended up really liking the gun. In the meantime, good shooting!
