I have a number of .308 platforms. I really like the Ruger SR-762, and I have a DPMS LR-308 Lite in a long range set up. Both are excellent platforms. The Ruger is .308 x 51 and is less than a 1.5 lb's heavier than an AR. It's a piston gun. It's my go to rifle for SHTF. I have a Colt AR and a Ruger SR-556 (the little brother of the SR-762).

There is a pic of the DPMS set up in the 'gun porn' section under ' a good breakfast. I'd love to see what she can do over 800 yards... that is the longest distance I have had experience with.
