If it's not a rifled barrel you don't need sabot slugs, you can use regular slugs. And also if you do shoot slugs keep your choke in. If you don't you will damage the threads. When it cones to brands of ammo federal is my cheap brand if choice. Remington never seems to pattern right for me. I am becoming a bigger fan of Nobel and fiochi they shoot a lot cleaner. Also if it's bird hunting get a few chokes take it to the range to break a few clays see what works for you. Also you may want to look at balistol as a cleaner I love that stuff
