One of the myriad of reasons not to deal with the VA. If you're a vet and can't afford private insurance, you're better off with medicaid if your state allows it. I haven't bothered with the VA since I was discharged from Ft. Benning in 1999. Those bastards put me at 9% disabled so they wouldn't have to give me a disability pension. They were going to give me medical and I said thanks but no thanks.
