Two things, first I have done 90% of my training with Red Dot, so it would be quite embarrassing to do something stupid, you know I have been trained better. Smile

Second, the rules I live by are:

1. If the gun is not in use, I carry it in a case in accordance with all transportation laws. If I am going to look for accessories or need to show it to you guys, it shows up in a case, unloaded, ammo not in the case, and the action open.

2. If the gun is "in use", it stays in the holster unless I am ready to shoot it. Loaded or not is irrelevant (unless I intend to shoot it then unloaded is stupid).

What is a gun "in use"?

Any gun not in my house and not in a case. And a gun "in use" should be loaded, in a holster, and not removed from the holster until ready to shoot.

And that includes traffic stops. If an officer asks to see my gun or take my gun, my response will be no, it is loaded and will not come out of the holster unless I intend to shoot.
