OK, I have had my new toy (CAI, C39A2) out to the range... She shoots well. All the magazines seemed to function fine, even the Magpul ones. I have no issues with any ammo. I had a set of Magpul Zhukov furniture, which I put on. I had to cut the front Hand Guard retainer off (You can buy a replacement one if you want to go back to the wood furniture). The front hand guard needed a little tweaking to fit, because I didn't want to cut the sling loop off the gas block. A small notch in the plastic, and a 1/4" x 1" slot in the aluminum heat shield. I didn't notice any issues afterwards. The rifle didn't seem to care what ammo I put through it. It did seem very accurate at 100 yds. I also added a Krebs replacement for the Shepard's hook and a upgraded safety.
Looks great! I remember when Krebs was working in a gun shop in Niles in the 80's. He did work on several handguns for me and I still enjoy them today. One is a work of art and doesn't get to the range very often....it's what I refer to as a .look at me gun. Cost more for the work than the gun did.
