I was too young to participate but when I was a kid, I remember kids in high school taking shooting lessons in gym class with .22 rifles. Once I made it to high school, shooting was gone, however I learned to shoot a bow in gym class. We setup targets on the tennis courts. These weren't optional classes, everyone was required to pass gym class. The high school I attended was in Park Ridge....one of the most liberal towns in Cook County today. Learn early and you respect it for the rest of your life.
