My question to you all is, if put in the mayor's or police chief's position, how would you all go about reducing these shootings?

2. Start training the entire society to carry and use guns, especially the youth. Make acquiring a gun, learning to handle a gun, joining a legal defense network, retaining insurance and council all part of the growing up process like we do for learning to drive and handle a car and getting insurance. In other words normalize the carrying of guns.
Just those two things will drop violent crime by 70% in one generation.
Now the real issues are getting to the heart of the youth and teaching them self respect and respect for others and most importantly respect for others property. When I was growing up we would never dare run across the neighbor's lawn, it was his property and we had no business running on his grass.
Since we have created a culture where the adults don't know these things we can hardly expect them to teach their children. So, we have little we can do but address the practical issues, see #1 and #2 above.
And, oh yeah, the most important thing, shut Pfleger up, every time he opens his mouth he makes the problem infinitely worse. He is single handedly making hate cool.
