Depends on what the manufacture recommends... I have always used TPS rings (not cheap, but really top quality) I know the ring screws should be torqued at 12-15 in/lbs. and the 7/16" nut at 65 in/lbs. Luepold are 15-17 in/lbs. ring screws, and 55 in/lbs for the clamp screws. I am not sure the screw driver I use can measure the torque that accurately, so I am always careful.
