Mine was a 1966 Buick Grand Sport. It had a 400CU muscle driving a 4 speed trans to a 4.01 to 1 read end. Tack read 4,000RPM at 70MPH and about 6 GPM. It was dangerous on a wet road. It never miss a beat from a dead idle in 4 gear to 7400RPM. 7450RPM would cause the hyd. lifters to collapse.
I love picking on the chevy SS396 Chevelles, OLDS 442s and the Judges.. The biggest problem was the front drum brakes and stopping it.
