If the abused would press charges, the abuser will be charged with assault, sent to prison and become ineligible to own a firearm. The law has been in place for almost 50 years. The Administration is obviously just appeasing their needs. Until the current administration is washed clean, wasteful spending will continue to disrespect and succeed current state laws in an effort to to find loopholes to infringe on our rights.
