I agree. I have been looking and researching the same. Nothing is tougher than the Super Redhawk (or all the Rugers for that matter).
Over the past month I have rented and shot 50 rounds through the Redhawk, Super Redhawk, and Super Blackhawk (Single action).
These were in .44 mag. There was a vast difference in how well they handled the recoil. The Super Redhawk was extremely fun to shoot and didn't feel any worse than my XDS in .45. The other two you could really feel the recoil.
Given the .454 is more powerful than the .44 mag then my experience says the Super Redhawk is even a better choice for this.
