If you look closely there is an adapter there that squares off the rear of the receiver allowing the standard stamped AK stock to be installed. There are Veprs that have the standard "squared" rear to the receiver but they are rare in the US. The ones that did make it here tend to be older models. The vast majority here have the angled rear like the one you fired and require the adapter for changing out the stock to something else.
