Ok, at McMiller today I saw another VEPR today, this one was in Russian 5.45x39. Much shorter barrel. Guy said he really liked it. At first I thought it was an AK but the distinctive stock caught my interest. Seemed like a very accurate gun. He was just finishing up his session, and didn't have any more ammo for it, otherwise he said he would let me shoot a few rounds.

Are these VEPR's replacing the AK?
