This was not Walmart, but the employee.
Last spring, at my local Walmart, 1/4 mile from my house, I was refused the sale of 12 pack of Heineken.
I didn't have my Id, but my wife had hers. For those that don't know, I'm 47 and by NO MEANS do I look 21.
The cashier explained to me that everybody in the party had to show ID or they couldn't sell them alcohol. "Sorry, it's a village bi-law" she said.
I immediately pointed out the the family at the next cash, buying mike's hard lemonade with their 2 teenagers. My cashier responded with attitude, that they clearly were not of age, and that their parents were not going to let them have any. Being pissed at this point, I respond with "HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT"
So, I left without beer. I WAS NOW ON A MISSION.
Within 10 minutes i was back to Walmart with a copy of my village bi-laws and a highlighter, chatting with Store Manager. She was not happy after I told her about my experience. I demanded an apology. The manager explained that it's company policy if you look under 40, they have to ask, and she knew I had been jerked around.
She asked me if I remembered which cashier it was, and i was pleased to tell her...."Oh yeah, Dianne, cash register number 4"
We walked over and she made her apologize.
Guess i should have started this story from the beginning....I was wearing a jet black shirt stamped with the NRA logo in big gold letters. When she first saw me she was looking at my shirt, raised her head and turned her head in disgust. She was such a *****.
Listing to her apology was great. With ID in hand, I then went right to the back, got myself a 24 case of Heineken and made my way back to cash register number 4 and made my purchase.
