It shoots better because of the thicker "bull" barrel that Molot uses in the Vepr. Atlantic Firearms sells a 23" 7.62x54R Vepr with SVD style wood stocks that is around 1 MOA, which is darn good for an AK. They also make the standard AKM and AK-74 style AKs and a 16" in 7.62x54R. Rob Ski from AK Operators Union Local 47-74 has a 16" in 7.62x54R that Atlantic loaned him for reviewing and he loves the thing.

Since that video was released he has put one of the new Magpul Zhukov handguards on it. The problem with the 7.62x54R Veprs is that here aren't any quality extended mags available for it so you're pretty much stuck with the 5 round mags.
