Ok, I can understand that for people with injured shoulders that makes some sense, but I would think that market is TINY.
AS my shoulder is fine, and I firmly believe a pistol is better choice for home defense (or an AR15 for that matter), I will still have zero interest in the pistol caliber carbine.
It's about ammo and equipment interchangeability mostly.
