I've only had to deal with a few gun manufacturers for service.
I recently had been shooting emails to Glock and getting a reply within 24 hours. So far I'd rate the an A+ but I've only communicated with them. I'll make a note to follow up on Glock once I send my gun to them and get it back to the range. The only con I have is the same with all gun manufacturers, which are shipping costs. Send it FedEx 2nd Day Air and insure it. Glock also wants me to send ALL my magazines I use with the gun....more insurance. I have a bunch of magazines to insure at $30 value each.
I never had a problem with S&W, although I've only had to talk to them on the phone to get a few parts and info.
I don't care for Winchester service because they wouldn't give me answer any questions on the phone without my sending in my shotgun.
I've never personally had the need to deal with Browning service, but I know people who have and they tell me their service is great. That's word of mouth and I hope I never have a problem with ny Browning firearms.
I don't know how others feel about Remington but if I posted how I feel about their service on more than one occasion in my words, I'd be banned from the RDA forum.
I gave up on Remington service and brought a shotgun into RDA. The gun hadn't been operating correctly or being used for about 20 years. I still have to pick it up at RDA, but I'm told it's fixed and have no doubts that it is.
Personally I find its so much more convienent and extremely price competitive to drop a gun off for service at RDA. If I had to ship a gun to the manufacturer, I'd have to pack it, ship it next day or 2nd day air and insure it. I'm sure the cost of my shotgun repair is at least 30% less than shipping alone would have been.
I'm sure I'll use RDA's gunsmith service for most of my needs in the future.
