Need to make sure I renew mine before the big Illinois rush. Obviously the well-oiled machine that is the Illinois Legislature must have misplaced this item for the last decade. Probably too busy thinking of new taxes and hand-outs to worry about something as minor as a useless driving license.

Yes, I've never been out of the country, so I guess I need to get one! Just something else...

Well of course the passport does not fit neatly into my wallet. However, TSA says that the passport card is ok. Since I need a new passport anyway, I'm going to go ahead and get the passport card too (which will fit in my wallet).

I watched the video and the woman near the end expressing her unhappiness with the new rule states how she doesn't understand why "Chicago" needs to go through this hurdle. Damn! So, I guess only Chicago counts?! She forgets there is this much bigger thing called a state and Chicago is in it. Gee whiz!

Not that big of a deal to me. I rarely fly, and when I do I carry my passport anyway. I never go to federal buildings unless absolutely necessary. There is nothing the feds have that I want...except, of course, my money back, but that's not happening.

Unfortunately, I do have to fly with my job, and so the ineptitude of the Illinois government does affect me a lot.

Dont blame ya. IL needs to get it together and address the issues. Pretty sad when a state uses excuses yet when the private sector has an excuse you may get fined or sent to prison.
