Nick Rabenau, the head of Type A Training Group from the Galesburg area, was arrested Monday on a host of charges, including a dozen counts of forgery, for signing off on Illinois concealed carry training certificates when he was not properly certified as an instructor.

This is why it is important to know the reputation of establishment holding the class. You want to dot the I's and cross the T's as far as law is concerned. A reputable firm will make sure the instructor is not only qualified, but also legit and be able to teach the material well.

Reading the comments and backstories on that guy at Guns Save Lives it sounds like this guy really had it coming. He was offering IL concealed carry classes before the law passed.

I know of a local instructor that was doing that. Kinda shady stuff.

Yes, I cringed when I read that article. I hope that does not negate the legality of his CCW student's permits.
