Lax regulation puts employees and patrons of gun ranges at risk of lead poisoning - Rodney - 10-19-2014 So looking at the range data, Bass Pro in Gurnee received 1 violation, GAT guns had 5 violations, Maxon's Range had 16 violations and Illinois Gun Works had 44 violations. This is in a period from 2004 through 2013. Media blowing this up for a fear factor or is this actual fact. What are your thoughts? I think it's the media blowing this up. It should come down to training the staff at a range. No staff training then the staff don't know what they should and shouldn't do. Having the staff clean a range with a leaf blower is just crazy and stupid. Employing a pregnant woman at a range is even more stupid. ![]() Below is what the ABA Journal wrote: Quote:It is a little-known fact that a number of shooting ranges throughout the country are contaminated with lead, spread by vapor and dust when guns are fired.
