Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - ssphoto - 10-01-2014

Hi all,

I'm doing some preliminary research on the candidates we will vote for this November. I stumbled upon one relatively unknown candidate for IL US Senate, Sharon Hansen. She is Libertarian. When looking at her stance on the 2A, I felt it was clear and concise with no BS:

Reject UN Arms Trade Treaty - The UN Arms Treaty goes against our constitution and I do not and will not support it; I am a strong supporter of the second amendment. People who support taking away our guns are uninformed and don't know why our forefathers put this in the Bill of Rights. It is our right to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. ***** Durbin voted for it. I would vote against it if it came up for a vote again while I am in office. This issue needs to be put in it's grave.

Obviously there are other important issues to consider besides the 2A, but I am posting this out there for you who are passionate about the 2A that there are other choices besides the Dem's and Republicans that seem to be our only choices per the media. Her website: http://www.sharonhansenforussenate.org/home

Thanks.

There is only one issue in the senate race - will your vote help get rid of Dickhead or not.

Remember 1985 when we stood on principle and ousted Percy.

What did that get us?

Simon and then Durbin which begs the proverbial question - how's that working out for you?

Got to like a candidate that has a post on her website titled "Liar, Liar ***** on Fire!" and she's waiting on approval for her concealed carry permit.

Really Oberweis? This guy is our great hope?

I'd do anything to get rid of ***** Turdin

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - BelieveIn308 - 10-01-2014

I tend to agree, but anything is better than Turban Durbin. It comes down to voting for Oberweis because he is the only candidate with any chance at winning. I never even heard of Sharon Hanson. To be honest, If I thought she had a 1% chance to win I'd vote for her, but she doesn't. This election is important to get rid of as many socialist gun grabbers as possible. Durbin is awful if you value the bill of rights, freedom and liberty. We must do everything we can to unelect him.

I agree with the concept that both parties are putting nails in the coffin, it's just the dems are putting more and faster. However, with Durbin it is a special case. We are in an environment when we actually have a chance to get rid of him. This won't come again. If we fail because we voted on principle then shame on us, and we deserve what we get.

No thanks, it's just going to hurt candidates that can win.

A third candidate is a wasted vote in a a tight race.

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - fromtheplaines - 10-03-2014

I like the idea of more parties but the system really isn't built for it.

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - AcilletaM - 10-03-2014

The system can handle it just - people can't.

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - BelieveIn308 - 10-03-2014

It will be really hard to defeat the government plantation candidate as it is, with them increasing the size of their handouts...

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - mikereddot - 10-03-2014

When i lived in Canada there were 3 parties, so much harder to have a majority government in control.

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - AcilletaM - 10-03-2014

So how is Oberweis the best chance? Last I checked 538 had Durban by 12. That's not very close

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - mikereddot - 10-04-2014

Thing is, Conservatives go out and vote more on non presidential elections. So, hopefully a bunch of democrats will stay home and watching Dancing with the stars.

RE: Upcoming Election in November; there are other choices - BelieveIn308 - 11-03-2014

Tomorrow is election day! Please vote against any candidate on the ballot that does not STRONGLY support the Second Amendment (and the rest of the Constitution). If in doubt, check the Illinois Rifle Association Website for NRA supported candidates. I can tell you now Senator ***** Durbin is 100% Anti-Second Amendment. And our current Governor Pat Quinn is as well. If you value your Second Amendment rights, please vote against these two enemies of the Constitution.

Over 2700 people in my neighborhood lost power for a few hours today. My polling place is in a public library that's 5 buildings south of me, I can see it out my front window. They also lost power.,I hope today wasn't practice for Rahm, it better not happen again tomorrow. I've been living here for 3 years, this was the 2nd time I've lost power, the first was due to weather today it was unexplained so far.

A good sign in my area is in the past it's been almost 100% Democratic. Yesterday I took a ride around my hood and saw quite a few Bruce Rauner signs and very few Quinn signs. I also saw a few houses that had a split vote, some for Rauner and also for another race a Democratic sign.

We ALL MUST VOTE and VOTE against anybody who's Anti Second Amendment, even if it's a Judge.

I may be jumping the gun but WHEN our Pro #2A people WIN I'm praying they'll take the momentum into the February 2015 elections, particularly in Cook County. A good % of what Mike referred to as the "Dancing with the stars" people outside of Chicago want to vote for a winner, not necessarily a Democrat....just a winner.

If our Pro #2A people happen lose I'm praying it won't be by a landslide.

Oberweis just conceded

Is it wrong that I laughed when my autocorrect changed "Oberweis" to "overweight"?

Political analyst thinks Oberweis will run against Kirk in the next primary
