A bug in Yingling's ear - Dutz - 11-08-2016

As I voted this morning I ran into rep. Sam Yingling. I decided to take the opportunity to put a bug in his ear. I told him he had an "A" rating from the NRA, and if he won it was, in part, due to that. He said thank you as I am sure he thought that meant I voted for him. I didn't, but I didn't tell him that. I wanted him to encourage him to keep voting correctly if he is re-elected.

Why did Rod not answer the NRA?

I just asked him and he said he is a proud 100% second amendment supporter. He said that there is a story behind the ? rating, but be assured, your vote was not wasted on Rod.

Too bad all my rep's have an abysmal NRA/GOA rating.

RE: A bug in Yingling's ear - LisaJarratt - 11-14-2016

By the way, I found out from my husband what happened with this. You might be interested and contact the NRA with this.

The NRA only rates incumbents. Yingling was. Rod was not, therefore, no rating. 2 things on this.
1. They rated Trump.
2. By them giving Rod a "?" rating, it implies that he is NOT pro-2nd.
3. Madigan "let" Sam vote in a 2nd amendment vote for the state that way, so that he could get that A rating. Madigan is evil, but he is no dummy. It seemed that it panned out for Sam in the end.

Oops, make that three things. LOL

I thought in some part the rating comes from filling out a survey, which Rod didn't do. I would think if they didn't rate challengers then Rod's name wouldn't be listed.

Sam voted against the Gabby gun store bill.

I will double check with Rod, but I believe this to be the case. Rod told me himself, that he is 100% pro-gun and 2nd. I told him that I thought he missed the ball on the NRA thing before he told me he didn't. He told me that he would tell me why after the election, I have not asked him. Let me ask him now...

RE: A bug in Yingling's ear - LisaJarratt - 11-16-2016

So I heard from Rod.

Quote:I gave them a survey in 14 that should have been an A. They gave me a B+ with no endorsement. They said Yingling is an incumbent and not bad for a Democrat with a C-. After I got that explanation, I figured there's no point in submitting a survey in 16, so I didn't submit one.

I think he still should have sent in one for 2016.

In 2010, when my husband ran, they wouldn't even let him fill out the survey, so the NRA is better about that at least... but there is still something not quite right there.

I also heard this about Rubio as well. He is 100% guns, but they gave the incumbent the better rating. Sad that politics are everywhere, including the NRA!!!
