Has anyone tried... - BelieveIn308 - 08-23-2016 the Daniel Defense AR magazines and have an opinion? RE: Has anyone tried... - Dutz - 08-24-2016 I have a couple. I picked them up at the NRA annual meetings. My AR-15 experience is limited and the only other ones I own are PMAG 30, GEN3. I used the two brands interchangeably during the Red Dot Advanced AR class. The noticeable differences are the DD takes 32 rounds, so you get two more, and the they have a textured body which makes it easier to grip and hold on to. Other than that they performed equally as well. Over the 8 hour class I could not have told you which one was in the rifle while shooting. I wasn't trying to compare or run comparison tests, so unless some professional field test reveals a design flaw I would grab the DD over the PMAG based solely on the grip. But then again, I have the VZ Operator IIs on my 1911, so I guess I am used to that.

My brother has a couple that he picked up CHEAP at a gun show. He said that it worked pretty much like the others. He is a big fan of Magpul's and standard steel magazines. I got rid of all of my magpuls and bought Lancers. They were less expensive and the top section (feeding section) is steel not polymer. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=ML232003&name=Lancer+Systems+L5+AWM+30rd+.223%2f5.56+Magazine+Black&groupid=14#arpartsfinder.com |
