GOP Convention Thoughts - Dutz - 07-22-2016
In case anyone watched it ( I did ), what are your general thoughts?
1. Mike Pence is a great VP choice.
2. Best line of the race so far, Mike Pence: "You can't fake good kids"
3. Trump's kids. I like them. They say a lot of good things about Trump that we may not know.
4. Biggest loser. Cruz. I think he screwed the pooch on his career. Time will tell. If you watched the end of the speech live, it was cringe worthy.
5. Most popular chant : "Lock her up!". When was the last time you heard something like that..never.
6. Trump's acceptance speech. If he rinses and repeats that for the next three months he can't lose.
7. My opinion of Trump got better...how much? Hard to say.
8. Most inspirational speech...Rudy Giuliani.
9. Best speech...Newt Gingrich...dang this country is wasting one of our best assets in him. Trump needs to fire all the Czars Obama created and make one..Gingrich the Policy Czar.
10 . Biggest surprise...Trump Jr...kid could run for congress now and win.
11. Biggest contrast...Melania vs. Michelle....trailer trash to elegance...wow.
12. Biggest contrast #2...Paul Rayan's tepid support of Trump compared to his slobbering over Pence.
13. Biggest losers overall...Bush's, Romney, Kasich, Lindsey Graham, and all the other morons who didn't show...the hostile takeover is almost complete....the ship just sailed...and you ain't on it...have a nice private sector life.

Melania did great. If Trump starts acting presidential and talking like a president and not a reality show host he can do it. He has to start working with the GOP, and yes even Cruz. He has to be less confrontational and more cooperative otherwise he's just going to rule be executive order and we rightly criticize the current guy for that.

Still not all that impressed, but I was a Rand Paul guy. Cruz lost a ton of credibility by not honoring his pledge to support the nominee. I hope he honors his pledge to the Constitution, but he has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes. Yet, I will do what ever it takes to keep Hillary from being elected. If she is elected Liberty and Freedom as we know it are dead. America will become another failed socialist welfare state and collapse.
