I am curious with some many people right on the WI/IL border for those of you that live on the WI side do you or have you ever open carried? I do but only when I am at my house on my property. I am in a dark neighborhood on a lake so it is always very easy for people to sneak up on me when outside especially if I am sitting by the lake enjoying a fire or doing some night fishing. I had a run in with a neighbor last week and actually had to get the cops involved. To my surprise the Kenosha Sherriff returned and I didn't realize he was behind me till he was almost 15 yards away. I was open carrying at the time and I was amazed how calm he was and how much he didn't even seem to care. He was totally awesome and was such a great thing to see. You could see everyone's eyes get huge when he approached since they all knew I had it on me. Anyone ever have any experiences with a LEO while open carrying?

I was at Racine County Line Range this morning, and I was open carrying, and told my wife. If we lived here, i'd open carry all the time. I'd get myself in some trouble I'm sure.

I've only carried concealed in WI. I'm not against open carry at all, but I prefer no one knows I'm packing unless I want them to.

I am not a big proponent of it either but I was on my own property and I am notable to carry concealed in WI yet.
