So true. You have to use propaganda when your ideas are bankrupt and are designed to coerce people into behaving in a way they otherwise wouldn't. It's a lot easier to shove propaganda down peoples throats when you accept that lying is perfectly acceptable. In this regard liberals do have a benefit over conservatives. However, the GOP for the most part is clueless in stating what they stand for. I think this is part of why Donald Trump is doing so well at the moment. He shouts out what he believes in and keeps hammering on it without apologies.

The lame stream media is under the control of the democrat party, much like Herr Goebbel's controlled Nazi Germany's media. The now are nothing more than an arm of the national socialist democrats. Coupled with controlling the indoctrination centers, known as 'Public Schools', it is a wonder America has not thrown out the Bill of Rights a long time ago. Clearly Obama ignores the Constitution, and is ruling much like Hitler did in 1934 Germany. It is only a matter of time before the good little socialists decide they need internal gulags...

The most successful propaganda campaign was the one from the early 20th Century that said bacon is a breakfast food. Up to that point bacon was often used as a sandwich topping or an ingredient for a dinner side dish. This campaign saw the sales of bacon skyrocket. The campaign was for the Beech Nut company and the creator was Edward Bernays. He was the nephew of Sigmund Freud and understood how to psychologically manipulate people. The story of Bernays also has a darker side. Joseph Goebels learned how to use propaganda by studying Bernays. He was also the driving force behind some of the early 20th Century Progressive movement's campaigns using propaganda to convince people that things along the lines of the government seizing private lands was for the better of the people.

This is why a republic stands on the tripod of these three freedoms. If one falls the republic falls, and each cannot work without the others.
1. Free Speech - The ability to educate the citizenry and keep truth alive.
2. The Right to Bear Arms - Actually being able to overthrow a tyranny by force is not the point. When we are armed, we are empowered, and when we are empowered we will utilize #1, our Free Speech.
3. Freedom of Religion - God created us with an independent free will to do with as we chose. He prefers we surrender to him, however, there is no religion that teaches we should surrender our will to a secular government. This is what is required for tyranny, and more specifically socialism, to flourish unabated.

I don't remember where I saw it but the other day I saw a meme of an anti-Muslim shotgun shell. It was filled with buckshot and bacon crumbs. I just about fell out of my chair laughing.
