Cecil the Lion - ssphoto - 07-28-2015 I really hate the idea of hunting for sport. Hmmm...I don't think lions taste very good. Seems this guy may have had a shady deal over in Africa. One picture of a white rhino he killed....for what purpose, to decorate his office? I know in some cases it's to control population issues, but I'm not sure I've heard rhinos or lions are in large abundance. Some of it is amusing, but out of place for what Yelp is meant for. Oh well. RE: Cecil the Lion - BelieveIn308 - 07-28-2015 For the record cat tastes like rubbery chicken... RE: Cecil the Lion - Brian S - 07-28-2015 The guide is probably going to be beheaded before weeks end. RE: Cecil the Lion - rwhite135 - 07-29-2015 I don't care if they get hunted. A lot of countries over there allow it and have game parks set up for just that purpose. It puts money into their economies. I'm more ticked off with what Planned Parenthood has been pulling in this country with aborted, aka murdered, babies. RE: Cecil the Lion - Dutz - 07-29-2015 I have to agree with everybody. 1 lion is hardly the thing of outrage, and I'm a cat lover. And with Mao killing 100 million, Staling killing 50 million, Hitler killing 17 million (all three are socialist in case you forgot), and the U.S. at 56 million and counting, that's a pretty sick group we are in. You just can't help but believe there has to be a reckoning for that some day, some where. Heck, maybe we are in it right now. That would explain a lot. And on the issue of hunting for sport, my grandfather (who died at 92 and killed a deer that year) was of the school you teach a kid to butcher before you teach him to shoot. What good are hunting, tracking, and shooting skills if you can't butcher the meat when you're done? After all, that's the only reason to do it. RE: Cecil the Lion - BelieveIn308 - 07-29-2015 It is hard to get upset with killing a lion, when so many other murders happen. It is good that you mention how many Mao, Stalin and Hitler killed. Did you know that Hitler is number 4 on the list of mass murders? Most people think he is number one. I like the way your grandfather thought. It's sick that an animal being killed can generate more outrage than babies being killed. God help us. Cecil the Lion - Brian S - 07-30-2015 Between Planned Parenthood and the Iranian nuke deal a lion should be a 10 second mention on the news if that. I agree and support hunting as a sport. I've always said don't kill an animal if you're not going to eat it and don't kill more than you can eat. The same goes for fishing, although I strictly catch and release all fish. Big game African hunting is a huge business. The dentist paid 70K to kill a trophy lion. I don't like to say guilty before a person is before a Judge and jury, although this instance doesn't sound like it going to favor the dentist or guide. It's a shame social media has found the dentist guilty beyond a reasonable doubt without letting him tell his side of the story. One final thought is, had it been any other lion, we would never of heard about. |
